Who said a TWIKE was unable to carry lots of goods?

TWIKEs are exceptionally well adapted to carrying loads!

To prove this, I used TW560 to buy some supplies for a (smaller) office party we have every first Thursday of every month.

Let’s see how this went, shall we? 🙂

Pat (another long-time reader of emissionless.ch), came with me to my local cash’n’carry outlet to buy some supplies in bulk.

After placing about half of what we eventually bought on the trolley, Pat was getting increasingly incredulous that we would be able to get everything into my TWIKE. At double the volume I was still convinced it would work – expecting a snug fit 🙂

We start with some beers (as the party organizer and resident Canadian at our office i get to choose what everyone gets to drink *grin*) and some exceptionally tasty Tonic and Ginger Ale from a local Zürich brewery called Gents (definitely TRY IT!)

Then we add some Cachaça, energy drinks and Vodka for those young at heart, two bottles of fine Gin, local beers, sweet fizzy drinks and water.

We finish by adding everything else, limes, snacks etc.

Wow! Everything fits. We add a 15kg bag of ice and we’re ready to go.

We slowly and cautiously start driving back towards the office. This TWIKE is certainly at max. load right now! As you can see, even though it’s November, we’re driving with an open canopy and light jackets. Very unusual for Switzerland!

The image below shows us in an exceptionally good mood – looking forward to our party!

Thanks, Pat for shopping with me and being part of this crazy TWIKE testing!

Even though we’re not able to accelerate as fast as usual, we’re not slow. Only thing I’m very careful about is cornering: don’t want this to happen again!

I thought you might be interested in what exactly was in TW560 during this shopping trip and what total weight we had.
